Is Word VBA training available on-line?

Is there anyone offerring on-line (either web site or e-mail) training in
Word VBA? Books are great, but I really learn more by doing something
(something besides digging myself into holes and asking the MVPs to pull me
out!).

Thanks.

Ed,

Have you looked at the vba and userform FAQ on the MVP site?

Thanks for the reply, Charles. Yes, I've been there, and there is a ton of
useful stuff - as long as you know how to use it. I've done most of my VBA
in Excel so far (aside from the recorder), and I'm lacking concepts the
apply to Word, concepts that are, for the most part, assumed to be known in
most of the code samples I looked at.

In many instances of my macros, I have basically jumped off the deep end
without really knowing how to swim, and relied heavily on the goodness of
MVPs and others to rescue me. Like trying to build a house without having
the concepts of square and level. I don't learn that way. Even Word
itself - even though I've used it every day for several years, and my
coworkers think I'm a guru because I know where to turn off the Tab Sets
Indent, all I do is open a new document and type - styles? templates? huh?

I'm looking for a guided tour through this cavern that starts at the
beginning, regardless of what I might know already. My local "college" is a
joke, and my work schedule won;t allow that anyway. So I'm looking at
on-line training or even a good book/CD tutorial that will explain the
basics of working with Word in VBA.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hey Ed,

Any luck with this? I too am looking for some sort of an online beginner's crash course site/stuff...no luck so far.

Please keep me posted if you have come across something.

TIA

No, nothing yet. But in the 4 months since I first posted that, I've
learned a lot simply by doing. I've gotten into ranges and templates. I've
got over 45 new modules, and use several of these almost daily.

Nothing beats doing for learning. And there is *no* "crash course" for that!
Yeah, I've "crashed" a lot, but between a book, Word and VBA helps, and the
newsgroup, I'm still plugging on.

You'll get a lot of the basics at the Word MVP site (see the address in
Charles' reply). Then go for it!
