Is WSSWIZ.exe appropriate for this error?

I was syncronizing the Public Document site with project server and received
this error message:

Error message
==========
There are no site templates installed on the specified server running
Windows Sharepoint Services. Verify that the Web server is properly extended
with Windows SharePoint services


Question
=======
Will WSSWIZ.exe solve this error message? WSSWIZ indicated that sharepoint
has been configure for project server: it is offering to configure additional
sharepoint web sites for project server.

Additional Information:

1) I provisioned the sharepoint site at http://servername/sharepoint with
the project management template and restarted the machine

2) I observed that under Admin >> Manage Windows SharePoint Services >> Site
provisioning settings >> site template field, does not have the option
"Project Workspace": another working system has this.

3) I ran the WSSWIZ and reinstalled the project server template for
sharepoint.
