We are having trouble with AS/400 linked tables "going bad" inside
of Access applications and causing the applications to fail. The
error is simply "ODBC Error" and provides little help in diagnosing
and correting the problem. Relinking the tables does not correct
the problem. Recreating the database does correct the problem.
This behavior started about 3 months ago and continues sporadically.
Applications that have run without error for years are now suddenly
having this problem, but there is no rhyme or reason as to where
it will pop up next.
IBM has been contacted but insists that this has always been a problem
with MS Access and says MS needs to fix their software. I don't buy it
as this has worked flawlessly for years until just recently.
Does anyone out there have similar problems? What about a solution?
If so, please reply to the thread,
