Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

On march 5th, my ISP started using a new certificate for pop connection, and Entourage cant deal with it and has stopped downloading mail from the server. Something about it not being valid, blablabla. In apple mail, you get a warning a dialog to accept the cert anyway and all is fine, but no dice in Entourage. Is there a way I can fix this? I tried installing the the new certificate using Keychain Access, but I am now out of my league in understanding these things. I just want my email back in Entourage. Thanks for any tips!!!

You need to isntall the root certificate in the X509Anchor keychin in
Tiger and before, and in the Login keychain in Leopard.

You can ask your ISP where to get the root certificate.

thanks, yes Ive done that by copying the cert from another user account using apple mail, which correctly installed it in the key chain. Even though its in my user keychain, entrourage still won't recognize it, or its another problem. Entrourage refuses to connect to this ISP, but apple mail will. At a loss on this one...

If you can get past the smugness of the person posting the information
you can follow the instructions at this link to install the root
certificate where Entourage will recognize it.

Hope this helps!
