Issue after XP upgrade with Office 2000 Sm.B. and Outlook

I have a bit of a problem. I upgraded my father in law's
PC to XP from 98. They have Office 2000 Small Business---
it came on the hard drive with the computer WITHOUT
disks. Everything w/ the upgrade is good-----Office
still runs fine except for Outlook and Outlook Express.
When I try to open them and get their email it says it
needs to configure itself for XP and then it asks for the
Office CD. I have Office 2000 pro and it won't take my
disk. My question is how do I access the files it's
asking for on the hard drive? It says it needs Data1.msi
or ms1 or something like that.

Solution2----I know Outlook Express downloads and
installs with Internet Explorer, but I get the latest
version from Microsoft.com and when I run the install it
says there is a newer version found and will not
continue. How do I permanently remove IE and Outlook
Express so I can reinstall them from the download? I
tried removing them thru Control Panel add/remove Windows
components, but generic icons "internet" and "email"
remain in the start menu. When I double click them it
brings up properties as it would for IE or Outlook
Express.

Help?
Thanks!

Re:2 tryed running Winupdate?
Re:1 the files its looking for are on the cd, youre probably getting the
problem because its checking the cd against the current installation which
was installed using a different App/disk

1) OE has nothing whatsoever to do with Office - it's part of the OS.

2) If you do not have a CD for Office then you have no choice but to
purchase the full retail version (or use your disc as a qualifying product).
As the system came supplied with 2000, it's likely to be long out of
warranty and the manufacturer will, most likely, not assist.

3) You cannot repair OE/IE by downloading; you must use Add/Remove
Programs and then 'Install Windows Components'.

4) The files it's asking for are only found on the disc - the original
installation is probably on a hidden partition which can (probably) only be
accessed from within the original OS.
