I have a user who's word documents all seem to be experiencing a strange
problem. The letters are all overstriking one another. My first guess was
that he accidentally changed the kerning, but this was not the issue. I
tried removing formatting, changing the font, setting the style to normal,
and all sorts of other format-fix testing. Then, I opened up some old
documents of his, and they started experiencing the same problem . . . though
on these, it would appear to happen in the middle of a paragraph, rather than
every word on every line. So, it must be systemic. Any known issues? Any
thoughts on how to fix?
If the user calls technical support, they'll just reimage his machine, and
he'll lose all his settings, locally saved files and so forth. I'd much
rather find an answer. Also, it will tell me what to do if I ever come
across this problem again.
Thanks in advance.
