Issue saving Portfolio Analyzer View...?

Michael

I am fairly new to project server and PWA, but have extended an OLAP
cube for Task Risk and Issues as part of the Project server SDK. When
creating the sample view from the SDK for the Task Issues and Risks in
PWA, I am able to create the Chart in the Manage Views section with no
issue. However, when I click the Save View button, and return to edit
the View, the view has none of the data I added to the chart
originally. The same is true when I go to the Projects heading link
across the top, select my project, and then select Analyze Project in
Portfolio Analyzer under the Actions menu. Surely this is not by
design where users have to recreate these views with their own data
each time they analyze the project. Has to be something on my end.
What am I missing?

Here is a link to the step in the Solution Starter that is not saving

The solution to my problem was NOT using the Chart Wizard to create my
connection to the OLAP data source. Instead, select Pivot Table with Chart
as the Portfolio Analyzer Mode, then select the command and options button on
the Pivot Table. Here you will see a tab called Data Source. Use this data
source tab to configure your OLAP connection. Once your field list is
displayed you can drag and drop them onto your graph as you normally would.
This will also add the fields to the pivot table. Once your chart is the way
you want it, you can go back and select the Chart Only Portfolio Analyzer
Mode. Click Save Changes and voila, your OLAP connection is saved and your
chart is saved with the fields attached. Go figure...
