Issue when linking / importing Oracle

B

Ben

I'm having difficulty linking and importing Oracle 9
tables in Access 2002 (SP3)
When I link or import the table from Oracle 9 into Access
2002, the import / linking
process picks up the incorrect data type.

I'm not sure if the trailing table will display correctly
so here's a quick synopsis

A field on the Oracle table is a Number, but Access sets
the data type as TEXT.
I plan on appending / updating data over the linked table
so this obviously is causing a problem.

I have switched from the Oracle 920 ODBC driver and tried
the MS Oracle ODBC driver, but I get the same
erroneous results.

Any Suggestions? thank you
