issue with link url in the email

Hi,

The other day i received an email from a friend of mine. In the email, there
is a link to other site. When i moved the mouse over the link, i could see
it's https://blahblah. Then, i clicked on it, a security warning popup dialog
box with the message "The current web page is trying to open a site in your
trusted sites list...". I clicked "OK" button. It open up our company's
homepage rather than the actual site associated with the link. I have already
added the link url to the trusted list in outlook 03 but still to no avail. I
wonder why it's doing that and what other settings i have to tweak to get
this to work.

Thank you in advance

I offer this as a guess...

We have two sites at work
- Internal "Intranet": Only accessible by machines that are
authenticated as being part of our domain.
- External "Internet": Viewable by anyone with an internet
connection.

Is it possible that the link you are trying to follow is an "Intranet" site?

The https (not just http) tells me that it is a "secure" site that you are
trying
to access.
