Issue with Ms Word

*** Issue with MS Word ***

All of sudden when I try to open MS Word... MS excel opens
up when you try to open MS Word using the icon.

I contacted HP and they suggested I contact MS.

Below is the message I received from HP.

It looks as if the file association of the icon and
programs has been disturbed. To resolve this iisue, I
recommend that you remove and then re-install Office Suite
from the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. If the
issue still persists, you should contact Microsoft
for a proper resolution.

We'll I tried to remove and re-install however I received
an error message that I needed to use the office 97 disk
that came with my PC. The catch is I never received any
disk. Everything came preinstalled.

Suddenly the message I was typing disappeared! I was trying to say that you
just need to reregister your apps along the lines typing in the Start, Run
dialog:

winword /r

and press OK.
