All,
I'm attempting to use an MST file to set the "Enabled Languages" settings in
the "Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings" (Microsoft Office Tools).
Enabled Languages allow e.g. for the autodetection of specific languages
(when you start typing a sentence in French in MsWord, it's automatically
detected as such). In my multi-lingual deployment this is a requirement.
According the article in the online Office Resource kit, it should be
possible to define the Enabled Languages using the Custom Installation
Wizard.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011402141033.aspx
In the Custom Installation Wizard:
On the 'Change Office User Settings' page, expand the tree under
'Microsoft Office (user)'.
Under 'Language Settings', click 'Enabled Languages', and then click
'Show controls and enable editing for'
This doesn't seem to work. Other settings from the same transform file ARE
properly configured on the target systems. So the installation pics up this
right transform (.MST) file.
My question is: Has anybody succesfully configured the "Enabled Languages"
in the "Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings" using a Transform?
Meanwhile I have worked around this, by adding the registry keys directly on
the "Add/Remove Registry Entries" page. Similar to what is described in
Microsoft KB article 827723. The path used is
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\LanguageResources]. This works,
but does not appear to be the right place to defne this setting.
Thx
