Just recently this problem popped up on a users computer that had been
working fine. System Specs are:
- Windows XP Pro SP2, fully patched.
- Office Pro 2003 SP3, fully patched.
- Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.2.
When she tries to convert to a pdf in Word, Excel or Powerpoint the process
gets about a third of the way and then freezes. When you close the
conversion dialog box, the application then locks up or closes. Initially I
suspected it was an issue with Adobe, so I uninstalled that completely and
did a registry clean up, reboot and reinstall. The error still existed so i
went ahead and then did an uninstall of office 2003, and Acrobat 8 and
cleaned the registry rebooted, reinstalled both. I didn't patch either
application initially, and the error still existed. I then patched Office
back up to SP3, and installed the 8.1.1 and 8.1.2 patches for Adobe Acrobat
Pro. The issue still exists. The odd thing is that if I log in under my
account i can convert documents in all three of those office apps to pdf's so
it is profile specific. What can i do to fix this issue, since it's
apparently an issue with the user profile and not the actual application?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
