Issue with "Restart at A" Option in Large Word Document

I'm facing an issue in my Word document where I have styled numerous lists and included images. Specifically, when attempting to apply the "Restart at A" option to the lists, it doesn't function correctly. This issue arises after approximately 300 pages in the 420-page document. I've tested with different versions of MS Word without success. Could you please confirm if there are limitations in MS Word regarding this feature? I would appreciate any suggestions or workarounds to resolve this issue.

I am using MS Word 2016.
