Issue with text box - contents are appearing on other pages

I am using Word 2003 and am editing a document for someone. When I insert a
text box it is either (a) not bringing a cursor up in the box; or (b)
allowing me to enter text as normal but a duplicate of this text is appearing
on a different page of my document - usually the following page. This is very
frustrating. Any ideas?

Nevermind I fixed it. If this is happening to you, try saving it as a HTML
document then shutting down Word. Reopen the document and save it back as a
Word document. It should fix everything!
