Issue with the copy and paste facility.

I want to copy source code from Visual Studio 2008 into OneNote, however when
I copy it, it copies the text but doesn't change the font or colours. I set
it match the source formatting and I check this every time. But does not copy
the colour of text or the font.

This isn't so much of a problem with small amounts, but if I need to copy
the source code for an entire program, it'll be a nightmare recoloring the
comments, string data and keywords.

Does anyone know why it is only copying the text and it's layout?

Products used:
Visual Studio 2008 Professional with SP1
Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 with SP2

Option selected on the paste: "Use source formatting"

The same issue was raised recently with this subject: "Syntax colouring lost
when pasting from SQL and Visual Studio?"

I assume you require this as a way of preserving sample code for later
searching.
You can achieve this by adding the relevant folder to Windows Desktop
Search. Remember to check in the Options that the file type of interest has
an index setting of "Index Properties and File Contents". Under this
arrangement you will use WDS to find sample code, not OneNote - but given
that it will be automatic, you may find this a better arrangement.

Problem has been solved. If I copy the source code into Microsoft Word and
then into Microsoft OneNote, it retains the format, font and colour. Thanks
for the help.
