issues after moving to a new computer with old pst file

Ok I got a new machine and copied over the old .pst file and then pointed outlook on the new machine to this file. now when I open my contacts or old emails I can read the data but cann't delet or change anything in the clander, inbox, or contacts lists. I still get my new email and they are all fine with no issues. I have also noticed if I create a new email I can't drag and drop an old emil into my new mail I can read all the old and new stuff but can't really do anything with the old data. outlook 2000, 2k Pro, 760 Meg .pst file
