Issues and availability

How can I include time spent working on Issues in my resource
availability reports? (Wishful thinking is that it will be a simple
fix ! )

Create a task for the issue, then use the linking of the issue to this task.

Thanks Ray ... While this would be the simple solution I was hoping
for ... I think what I really need is a solution that doesn't require
additional overhead for my resources, e.g.: adding an hours worked
field to the Issues form and bringing this into the cube.

Why don't you use an Admin project or a single task project. You have to
capture the time spent by your resources on issues therefore this is the only
way of doing this with any accuracy. You will not have to do anything special
to push the data to the cube either. You will just have to filter the project.
