Hi,

I'm trying to open up this file on Microsoft Excel, and this message comes up:

".....xlsx' is being modified by .....OPen as Read-Only or choose Notify to be alerted when it is available"

So, I click on Notify and immediately following that... I get this message:

".....xlsx is now available for editing. Choose Read-Write to open it for editing"

When I click on Read-Write, the previous message comes back again. :(

Could there be a virus or what is going on? :(

That message normally indicates that the file has not been designated as a
Shared Workbook & that another user/program already has the file open. This
includes having a Word mail merge doc open which uses that Excel file as a
record source as well as other possibilities.

If that isn't the case you'll need to supply more information about the
origin of the file, specific version level (12.X.X) as well as anything else
about the circumstances. Is the file stored locally or on a server? Any
additional information would be helpful.
