Issues viewing project Center and resource center and resoponse ti

We are having issues accessing project center and resource center, sometimes
it errors, sometimes not. We can create and save new projects but once
resources are added the system fails to respond to a save action within
project prof.

Error - Project Center cannot access the project(s) you are trying to view.
It is most likely that you either don't have permissions to view the project,
another user has deleted this project(s) before you were able to view it or
that another user is in the process of publishing the project.

I have tried...

USE projectServer_Published;
GO
EXEC sp_updatestats

but anything more i can do?

I have the feelig it must be a maintenance issue somewhere.

Any other tidying up needed?
