Issues with Viewing Projects Details via PWA

Zain Rehan

having issues with published projects. it seems the project manager is
saving/publishing the project but when the project details are viewed via
PWA, the following message is displayed:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------

There is no information to display in this view

Either the project manager has not published the project plan or there is no
information in the project plan to display.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

i, as an admin can see that the project was saved/published with lots of
task data in it. any thoughts here?

many thanks,

i appreciate the prompt response. yes, the PM and the admin can not see the
project details. this is not true for all projects, which show details just
fine.

many thanks,

Hey Dale,

I've tried looking in the event log for related errors, but found none.
Thanks for the kb article. Since this happens to only one project that we
currently know of, the rest display just fine, I was wondering if you know
of any solution that targetted towards this kind of behavior?

By the way, on the same project, resources are able to enter time worked and
completed status reports.

Many thanks,

1) Try to re-publish project plan using Collaborate > Publish > Project Plan.
Then in popup window select Project Plan with Summary.

2) Try a different Project Center view. See if you can view project details.

3) Check the permissions / settings in Manage Security > Categories and also
in Manage views.

Zain:

Are you seeing errors in the spooler on the PM machine? How about the server
application event log? Does the project name contain any illegal characters
such as dashes, ampersands or parenthesis, to name a few?

Saved/published successfully. Also looked into security and views and did
not find anything unusual. Tried all possible views in the project center.

Do you know of anything we might have missed as far as project plan
properties are concerned, that'd possibly cause this?

Many thanks,

Zain:

You didn't answer my question about special characters in the Project
name.<g> Assuming that means no, are you using any enterprise cost fields?

Z

Zain Rehan

Sorry about that. Yes, two hyphens. Here it is in quotes: "69672 -
Rewards - Target Total Compensation". I've tried changing the name to no
avail. Also, no enterprise cost fields are being used.

Remove the plan from the server, then import it under a different name. You
can do this by saving as an mpp file. The dashes are the source of your
problem. Once you import it, use the instructions in our FAQ on the Project
Server Experts site to rebuild the binary before you republish everything.
