Issues with Word Attachments using Office 2007

Anytime I try and open a Word attachment using Office 2007, I get a blank
screen. Originally, I downloaded a free trial, then upgraded to a full
license. I did not have the issue using the trial version, only the full
licensed version.

At first, I thought the issue was that I was unable to get rid of the trial
version completely so I did a complete manually removal of all the Office
Products that were installed. Then I reinstalled the new 2007 Volume
licensed copy of Office Pro and still had the same problem pulling up word
documents within outlook. I took it one step further and did another
uninstall and then manually removal and reinstall 2007 STD. I did not have
the problem when installed 2003 pro back on to this same box. It was only in
Office 2007 that I experienced the problem opening word attachments within
outlook. I made sure to fully patch with all OS and Office patches which did
not make any difference.

I am currently running Windows XP Pro SP3 and the mail was configured for a
pop3 server. Does anyone have any guidance?
