it seems the office 2003 i have is missing the add ins for excel?

Hello:

Which Add-in? (My guess is Data Analysis.)

If it is that add-in is part of the Office 2003 CD. You need to get it out and
install it. Do a custom install and look for the add-in. (No CD? Out of luck.)
