Item "1" offset from rest of numbered list?

Hi Folks

I've looked for an answer on the list for this but can't find one so here's
my problem.
I'm using Word 2000 for a manual with many short lists of 4 to 8 items or
steps. The "List Number" style is set to "Body +Indent: 2cm left, hanging
0.63cm , with tab at 2.63cm."

I use AuthorIT to publish my document into Word and every list, throughout
the 120 page document, has item 1 set with no left indent, hanging 0.63cm
and tabs at 0.63cm. So while the bulk of the list is lined up as wanted at 2
cm across, EVERY 1st item is over against the margin.

Any ideas would be gratefully received

TIA

David

Hi David

Sounds like either you or AuthorIT might be setting the indent via the
(style) Paragaph settings, rather than via the Number format? Whenever the
numbering is reapplied (perhaps when AuthorIT restarts list numbering - I
don't know how it goes about that) the indent defined by the numbering will
override anything set by the paragraph.
