Items showing up in PWA/Assignments that don't show up in Project Pro Resource Usage View

OK, folks. Here's something strange and I just can't figure it out....

In the past I have been manually publishing a Resource Usage View
report via MS Project Pro 2003, showing assignments by resource
FILTERING out assignments that are 100% complete. Fine and dandy,
however....

Now I'm trying to replace that report with "live" access to the
Assignments View via PWA (I've got the timesheets turned off--we won't
be using them).

Well basically there are several assignments that are still listed for
these resources in the assignment view in PWA that I have VERIFIED are
set at 100% in % work complete in the Task Usage View via MS Project
Pro AND their "parent" tasks are all set to 100%. Most are milestones
but some are not. But they don't show up in the Resource Usage manual
report,even with the same filter.

What in the heck is going on? I hope the PWA Assignment View isn't
going off the timesheet (which we aren't using). What can I do to make
the PWA Assignments View match the Resource Usage View in MS Project
Pro with the same filter (% Complete not equal 100%)?

I would greatly appreciate the help on this. I'm not sure what to
think.

Thanks,

Andy --

The View resource assignments page uses the same data displayed in the View
my tasks (timesheet) page in PWA. It does not matter that you are not using
the timesheet functionality in PWA, however. When you are manually entering
actuals into the actual Microsoft Project plan, you must do the following in
the project plan:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. Select the "Overwrite actuals entered by resources" option
3. Click OK

Doing so will "push" your Microsoft Project plan data to each user's
timesheet in PWA and into the View resource assignments page as well. Hope
this helps.

Thanks Dale. I had been instructing the folks to do a "Publish All"
but I guess that doesn't do it. Will they have to go through a
two-step process to publish the plan AND the assignments then after
progress changes are made at the task level? In other words, what
publishing option do they go through before your 3 steps mentioned
above?

Thanks,
Andy

Given your environment of not using the timesheet, they will need to do two
distinct steps:

1. Collaborate - Publish - Project Plan
2. Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and select the "Overwrite
actual work entered by resources" option

Hope this helps.
