Anyhow having installed the Office, I find when I go into old excel spreadsheets and attempt to highlight a section to then delete it, it only deletes the one cell.

Also, the page doesn't show the cell content at the top like excel use to.

Issue #1: On a laptop/notebook you have only one "delete" key which serves 2
purposes. The key alone deletes only the content of the active cell. If you
want to delete the content of all selected cells hold the "fn" key while you
press delete.

Issue #2: You most likely don't have the Formula Bar displayed. Go to the
View Menu & select it to turn it on.
