Itunes music doesn't play correctly

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I am trying to create a presentation for my daughter's wedding that uses lots of transitions between photos and different Itunes songs during the presentation. Most of this is working fine, however two new songs (that my daughter REALLY wants) that I purchased from ITunes don't play correctly. They play just fine when played in ITunes but when I insert them into PowerPoint they hang and "stutter" as if there is not enough memory to play them. My Mac has 4gb of Ram so I don't think that is the problem. Other songs I am using play just fine. Any ideas of what might be going on?

Are you playing the presentation on the same computer as your iTunes
library? If not, this explanation form PPT Help:

Cause: Music added to the presentation was purchased from the iTunes Store.

Solution: Run the presentation on the computer that was used to purchase
the music. When you include music as part of a presentation, be aware that
music files purchased from the iTunes Store can only be played on authorized
computers, and people whom you share presentations with might be unable to
play iTunes files.

I should have further added that I know about this problem, but that is not it. The PowerPoint presentation is being played on the same computer as the Itunes registered account.

Then I'm not sure what to tell you. Is there anything 'different' about how
you have those specific songs stored or organized? Have you tried creating a
separate presentation file using those songs to see if the problem occurs
there as well? That might help troubleshoot the problem.

I don't know exactly what you mean, but I thank you for trying to help! Maybe this is an Itunes issue and not a Powerpoint issue. When I am in PowerPoint and want to insert a music file and navigate to my Itunes library, all I see is my entire library sorted by artists. I can't see any special playlists (that is what I thought you meant so I created a special playlist for the wedding songs but I can't navigate to any playlists).

There is one difference that I do note. On the new song that I purchased, when I import it into Powerpoint, the icon that shows up is one that includes a speaker and a "film clip?" (this is so small I can't recognize what it is and when I enlarge the icon, only the speaker enlarges. All the other songs, when imported only a speaker shows up. I don't know if this means anything.

I have more bizarre information. If I go the slide where the problem music starts and simply click on the sound icon, the song starts to play just fine! However, if I start the presentation from that slide forward, then just as before the music starts to jerk, not only on this slide but many of the subsequent slides.

Good eye! That means a great deal, I'm sure... Although I'm not sure exactly
what :) I have a feeling that these aren't typical audio format but I don't
use iTunes enough to recognize the distinction in the icon... Could they
possibly be some form of video as well?

Navigate in Finder to your iTunes folder, select one of the files in
question then key Command+I (Get Info). See what type of file format it is
as well as what the default Opens With program indicates [but I imagine that
will be iTunes].

Hi Bill;

Just a follow-up... The icon you describe indicates that the media clip was
inserted as a Movie rather than as a Sound. AFAIK, however, that alone
shouldn't prevent the clip from playing properly. The info regarding file
type & default app should provide more insight.

Bob,
Get info says that the "culprit Itunes song" is a: purchased AAC audio file.
