I've got some weird frames I can't get rid of

I have what looks like 90 degree angle frames in each corner of Word every
time I launch it.
I can't get rid of them. Or perhaps I should say I can't find the settings
that do get rid of 'em.

Do you know how to get rid of these things.

They look something like:

| |
|____ and ____|

I don't know if this formats correctly but this is in each corner of each
page.
