Jaggy Graphics

I have a large number of documents created in MS Word 5.x that contain eps
graphics. While these documents open and print out well in classic mode,
when I open them in Word 2004 they both display and print out with jaggy
lines instead of the usual smooth lines that eps had produced in the past.
Any suggestion as to a fix?

They should print properly on a postscript printer, but will look far
worse than they did onscreen on 5.1. If you save as PDF they will also
look as bad as they do on screen, or on a non-postscript printer.

If you want PDF, or have a non-postscript printer, you have to trick
Word into presenting the eps and not the jaggy eps preview to the
printer.

The trick is to print to PDF as "save PDF as Postscript" (Tiger)
Then open the .ps file in Preview and print or save that.
(the wording is slightly different in Panther and earlier)

If they are not printing properly on a postscript printer, then you
have a different problem to what I think it is.
