Japanese Characters in Outlook

Absolutely

I'm curious as to how a US based Outlook is able to work with both Japanese
and English character sets at the same time, but other email apps can't.
Wondering because we have GoldMine and use the GoldMine email client, but
cannot work with Japanese characters in the GoldMine email client, but can
in Outlook.
