My laptop is running Windows XP Pro and Office XP.
I have installed the Microsoft IME Standard 2002 for the
Japanese language, but it is not working properly. I
installed the Office XP IME that is available for download.
Whenever I type consonants, they do not show up. For
example, if I type 'shi' all that appears is ' い' ('
i' for those of you who can't read Japanese on your PC) in
hiragana. Nothing seems to fix that. Other times, when I
type 'shi' the character assigned to each key (on the
Shift-JIS keyboard) is displayed. The only way to enter
text is to use the IME pad which is tedious and slow.
What's wrong, and how can I fix it?
