Japanese language font automatically switching in Access

I am currently running Windows XP Professional w/ SP2 and Office XP will all
updates. I have East Asian languages installed on my PC. But whenever I use
Microsoft Access with the input setting set to English, it automatically
switches over to Japanese when I start typing. If I set it back to English,
it will initially start typing in English and will eventually continue typing
in Japanese. Any ideas or patches that will fix this issue.
