I bought a Mac because of the ease of switching languages. My wife is Japanese and I want to be able to switch languages on the menus for her in Office like the system switches. Is this possible?

Have you considered setting up a new User for your wife. It's so easy to
switch using Fast User Switching. This way you can set the new User as
Japanese.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

I'm not certain, see this page for some help:

Configuring Office 2008 for multiple languages

In case the above link does not work:

There are several MVPs that use multiple languages and they might be able to
help out.
Diane,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I've got Office configured to allow Japanese reading and writing in documents, but the menus remain in English no matter what I do. I may just be out of luck here. Thanks anyway.

Hi Tim -

What you've found is correct - Mac Office does not support multiple language
menus. Each language version has language -specific menus.
