Java script for drop down menu

I saw the thread about to Java script for drop down menu, and I wondered if
anyone had gotten it to work. I'm new at this and I know it's going to take
me a lot of time to get it right, and should I bother?
Also would someone have a link to a sophisticated website done w/ Publisher
so I could show my boss what we could aspire to.

I am going to paste in a response I wrote earlier to another poster. I don't
know that you should be using Publisher to try to produce a "sophisticated
website". Here is my other post:

Publisher is a DTP with limited web building capability, and is intended for
relatively simple, small and static websites. It can be a good choice for
those who already own Publisher, wants a web presence to go with their print
media and wants the convenience. I don't know any professional web designer,
or expert that would suggest that you use a DTP to create a website, and
several of the Publisher MVPs argue adamantly against using Publisher for
web building. It all depends on the scope, the size, and the goals you have
for the site. The bigger the site, the more dynamic functionality you
require, the more limiting you will find Publisher. You won't find as many
limitations with Web Expression and other programs specifically designed for
web building. But with that said, I think the skill of the person wielding
the tool, is more important than the tool itself. Here are just a few sample
Publisher sites that demonstrate good sites in my opinion:

(Denise, this last link is using Xara MenuMaker to produce a javascript
menu, but I don't know that you should be trying to use a javascript menu.
You use Publisher to KISS...)

David, Thanks - I suspected I was spending too much time on bells and
whistles we don't really need. The links were helpful, too. We're a small
non-profit and need to do this ourselves, and you are right about "the skill
of the person wielding the tool". I'm still learning and I'm sure I'll have
more questions. Thanks again.

You are welcome.

We are all still learning, and sometimes through trial and terror ;-).

I would suggest that you download and install FireFox to test your site as
you build it. Publisher produces different code for browsers other than IE,
and your goal should be to produce a site that is cross browser compatible.
If you can get your site to work correctly in both IE and FF, then you will
have most browsers covered.

When you install it, just opt out of it being your default browser, and you
should not have any problems. Then when you want to test your site, Publish
to the Web and direct your output to a folder on your computer where you can
easily find it (I use a folder on my desktop). Then you can open that
folder, and right click your .htm files, open with, FF to see what the pages
will look like in FF.
