Jet Engine stopped ??

I am using Microsoft Access 97. I have a database and when I try to make a
change on one of the entries I get this message. "Microsoft Jet Engine
stopped the process because you and another user are attemting to change the
same data at the same time." I am the only user on my computer but must have
clicked something incorrectly. In the notes section it says #error. If I
try to take that away the above message appears. All of my other entries
work fine. I would appreciate some help. Thank you

You have a corrupt memo field in that record.

Can you rekey that record? If so I'd try that and then delete the record. If not
See the Corrupt Records in a Microsoft Access MDB page at my website

Do you have Jet 3.5 SP3 installed? I suspect you don't.

Jet 3.5 SP 3 - msjet35.dll - 3.51.3328.0

Look in the \Windows\System or \WinNT\System32 or similar directory for the above
files. Then right click on the file >> Properties >> Version.

Updated version of Microsoft Jet 3.5 available for download

Hi Tony, Thank you so much for the reply. I think the solution may be over
my head. I hired someone to originally do the database for me and I use it
for my clients. I will try to follow your instructions and get back to you
if I can make it work. Regards, Brenda
