JET retirement

Hi I wonder if anybody could possibly explain why JET is
not a part of MDAC 2.7. Does this mean that Microsoft is
retiring Access?

JET is part of at least the next 2 versions of Access. Microsoft has put it
in "maintenance mode" which means there will be no further enhancements.
That may very well change if they cannot make the MSDE into a suitable
replacement. MDAC is for ADO. That is also going to change as Office and
therefore Access move toward the .NET platform.

Access is becoming more compatible with SQL server.
Access is not going away although it appears MS is trying
to make jet go away.
