I installed SP 8 per the directions at ACC2K3 startup. Rebooted the
machine. Opened my MDB, and was presented with the same prompt.
Any ideas?
Hi,
There are two different dialogs relating to blocking expressions that look
very similar but have different purposes. Before you install Jet 4.0 SP8,
you receive a dialog telling you that you need to install SP8 in order to
block unsafe expressions and asks you if you would like to open the
database anyway. (i.e. without blocking unsafe expressions)
Once you install SP8, you will get a similar dialog telling you that you
are not currently blocking unsafe expressions and asking you if you'd like
to start blocking them. When you chose to start blocking expressions, you
will have to re-start Access in order to read an updated registry key, but
at that point you should no longer see any warnings about Jet 4.0 SP8.
This is completely different that the Macro Security warning, which will
occur for every database that is either unsigned or signed by an untrusted
publisher when you are running in Medium or Low security.
