Jocelyn, could you please point me to where I originally
posted -- I can not locate. Or if you don't mind, reply
here. I now have enough sense to return to this posting!!
Thanks.

Anyone know of a simple -- painless -- non frustrating
method to compile a folder with say 15 of my existing
contacts within OUTLOOK 2002 (using Office XP as well)...
complete with company name & full address. Intention is to
email the folder as an attachment. This sounds quite
simple, but has someone actually completed the task??
Thanks in advance for correct & detailed instructions.

This is kinda simple, once you give it a try. I'm assuming the
intended recipient has Outlook and doesn't want a sock full of vCards
from you.

Create a subfolder below contacts, call it myContacts or something.
Hold down CTRL key while you drag to the subfolder each contact you
need to send. (Holding down CTRL creates a copy of the contact rather
than moving it). Double check to make sure.

Then click on the menu option File/Import and Export and select
"Export to File" - NEXT - select "Personal Folder File" -NEXT - select
the subfolder myContacts that you created - NEXT - give the file a
name, say: contacts.pst.

Send that file as an attachment, The receiver can import your file
into Outlook and will have a folder of your contacts.

How's that?

Brendan, thanks for reply. Must be doing something wrong!
When in the contacts folder, dragging over to a new folder
opens up an email message form (as is sending a message to
that contact)?? I should mention I only want to forward
contact name, company & address -- not all my notes in the
lower box or phone #'s.
Thanks

Sounds like you may have created the subfolder under the
inbox folder, rather than under the contacts folder. (It
makes a difference).

If you have copied (with the ALT+drag) rather than moved,
the contacts, you should be able to edit the copied
contacts in the subfolder by selecting each in turn,
editing and saving. The original 15 contacts in the
contact folder will remain unchanged.

The new folder can be located anywhere, but when creating it, you have
to specify that it will contain Contact items. BillD, it sounds like
you created a new folder and specified that it would contain Mail items
instead (I think Mail items is the default in the dropdown box).
