Hi

How can I join a document while keeping the page setup of the inserted
document the same as it was (smaller margins than the rest of the document)

Thank you,

You will need (at minimum) to have a section break between the documents. If
you want to preserve the layout of the inserted document when you insert it
(as opposed to restoring it after insertion), you'll need to add a section
break at the end of that document before inserting it (in addition to the
section break that will precede it in the target document). If the end of
the inserted document is the end of the compiled document and you don't need
a section break at the end, it can be removed this way:

1. With the insertion point in the inserted section, go to Page Setup.
Without making any changes (and making sure that "Apply to" is set to "This
section"), click OK.

2. With the insertion point in the last section (the empty one following the
final section break), press F4. This will duplicate the layout settings you
just OK'd in Page Setup.

3. It is then safe to delete the section break (which is easiest to do in
Normal view).
