JOINING LINKED TABLES (ODBC)

Hiya

I am a novice using ODBC, please help!

I have some tables in Access and some linked tables (using
a Microsoft for oracle odbc connection set up in Control
Panel)
I can open these linked tables from Access without problem.

However when I write a query that contains a join between
an Access table and a linked table I get the error "ODBC -
Connection to 'myconnectionName' failed."

I can create queries that have joins between 2 linked
tables no problem, it's only when I join an Access table
to a linked table.

Could this be something to do with my ODBC setup?
