JPEG file only display for 1 user

Using Word 2003, a user inserted 2 scanned images "Insert File". Both are
visible to her. She mailedl the document to several people. However none of
the recipients can see both of the images. one of the signatues is missing,
and is replaced by a box with a red x in it, and the name "pict0.jpg". She
can log on at another PC and see the file OK, but everyone else gets the red
x. I've checked that they are vieiwng it in the "Print Layout" view, and
not the "Normal" view, but that doesn't change things.

I've checked the Tools Options View tab, to see if I can detrmine any
differences on the differnt users PC's but can't find any.. I've also
deleted the normal.dot from her PC, and replaced it with one from a user who
could not se the graphic. I expected that htis would cause it not to appear
on her PC, but she can still see it, and no one else can

Any suggestions Gratefully received

Thanks

A couple of thoughts -

If you're wording is accurate, the first problem is that the images were not
inserted properly. The appropriate process is Insert>Picture>From File,
*not* Insert>File. Also, the Link to File option should not be used - or if
it is, copies of the images must accompany the doc when sent to another
user. IOW, the image files themselves must be available if they are Linked
rather than embedded.

It's also possible that the email system is ravaging the attachment. If the
above procedure is followed & the problems still occur, try zipping the
file(s) before sending.

The receivers should also check their message format. It sounds as if it
needs to be set to HTML.

Thanks,

Now that you mention it, that is the most obvious soklution and I should
have thought of it sooner. The original images are not available, and hence
cannot be displayed. One of these days I'll get a brain

Thanks again
