Jpeg is not recognized after Office2003 installation

Office 2003 was installed on a Windows 2000 system, and
now we can't open jpg files. Even when I open MS Paint and
try to save it, the option to save in Jpg format is not
available. I can also save a jpeg picture (such as
http://site.ifrance.com/beatles/1967.jpg ) from the web to
my system, the icon changes to a generic unknown icon and
when I try to open it it says "unknown file format".

Any idea?

Im having the same problem, no only jpg but bmp and gif
files are not associated with anything. I can manually
associate it with the picture manager but I shouldn't have
to do that.
