Jpeg & PDF images damaged on receipt

Email Client: imap

I have just switched a POP account to IMAP and when I receive mails with DOC, jpeg or PDF's the file won't open (damaged). The same files open if received through a POP account. Also the files are o.k when received on my iPhone's IMAP account. What might the problem be?

Could it be that your account is configured to receive messages partially
only? Go to Tools>Accounts, your account, switch to the Options tab and make
sure the option "Partially receive messages over" is NOT checked.
