JPEG's into Image Controls - Buggy or ?

Hello

I am loading JPEG's into an Image Control and wonder what
causes this unpredictable behaviour. I use Microsoft Photo
Editor for the automation server and have no problems
loading, viewing or editing any of my images within Photo
Editor.

However - when some of these images are loaded into the
Access 2000 Image Control on my form,I get the following
error :

"Run-time error: 2114: Microsoft Access doesn't support
the format of the file Path To File so it can't load the
picture."

Note - the majority of the images load fine.

Now, these images are downloaded from a camera and are
very large OR they are found on the web- typically - 400-
600kb. Some of these large images will load into the image
control and as for those that don't - my workaround is to
resize them to a smaller size and then they load normally.

What causes this 'random' error, espcially when Photo
Editor has no issues and therefore one might expect, that
Access which is 'invoking' Photo Editor, shouldn't have a
problem either.

Of course, I accept that having such large images is open
to question but when you have a library of 10,000 images
that you are trying to organise in Access 2000, resizing
them, especially when you don't know which ones are going
to provoke the error, is awkward.
