On a Windows NT PC (SP6) with Office 2000 small business edition I
have JPEG files that will only associate with Excel. I checked out the
properties of the file associations and they show that both the JPEG
File and JPEG Image are associated with IExplore.
I have service packed both the IE 5.5 and the Office 2000.
It puzzles me that the correct association is shown in the file types
tab of Windows explorer but will only open with Excel.
I have removed all of the excel associations as well as the jpeg
associations to see if it would make any difference. But nothing
worked.
The files are not corrupted because I can open them with IE on other
computer as well as with Imaging on the computer with the bad
associations.
I'm out of ideas. Anyone else like to take a stab at this one?
