JPG - drawing failed error

K

Ken

To Whom It May Concern:
I'm having problems with my XP "Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer"
In file explorer, when I set view to Thumbnail, I can't
see images of any new JPG files in folders, or if I
double click on a JPG file, "Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer" launches, but I get an error "Drawing failed"
I can open JPG's in any other program, but not in XP
Explorer.
I can see old JPG's because the thumbnail was saved, but
for the last 6 weeks, new files just give me the JPG
icon, or "Drawing failed"
It's really a nuisance to have to open all my JPG's in
Photoshop.
HELP!!!

Hi, Ken.

You may need to make sure that both types (jpg & jepg) are entered in "File
Types" in Explorer's Folder Opions.

Open Explorer. Go to Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down and if you
don't see both, click "New" and add the missing extension.

Hope this helps,

Ed

I am having the same problem. Any other suggestions? I have a Nvidia
GF4 Ti 4200 video card. The jpg extensions are associated correctly,
but when i double click on the thumbnail I get the "Drawing failed"
message.

Thanks
