jpg/gif images don't show up on website after publishing

My Version is Frontpage 2003 SP2
Photos taken with a digital camera<used previously on websites> are not
showing up after the site is published. However, a photo provided by a vender
does show up. I have checked the source code and it points to the images
folder NOT the hard drive, and the picture is there. The photos were file
inserted in frontpage. Because the one photo shows up, i'm inclined to think
there is an issue with the photos, but....?????? I'm quickly running out of
excuses....can anyone help? Thanks

1. Did you import the images into your current open FP web before using them?

2. If hosted on Unix/Linux, check that CaSe of the image filename actually matched the CaSe of the
image filename link in HTML/Code view.

What are their file sizes and how are you connected to the net- high
speed or modem? Are the files legally named? i.e.- no spaces or special
characters except a period, hyphen or underscore) Does the written file
path reflect the file name exactly as uploaded? Letter case can matter
especially if case in the filename is changed on upload.

My first thing was to question if they were imported into
FP, and if the code is correct. It appears so, but a URL for
the page in question and for the Image iteld would help
My next thing to question would be the case of the URL.
Non-windows servers are case sensitive
The only issue I could see with the photos would be if the
colorspace was wrong- eg using CMYK as opposed to RGB

thanks for the replies. two of you have asked if the images were imported to
frontpage. i placed all images into the images folder<including the only
image that works>then inserted them into the website on the different pages
using the frontpage "insert picture" option. following is the code generated
by frontpage.

<div style="float: left">
<img border="3" src="images/b&sPressFW4web.gif" width="207" height="138"
align="left" hspace="8" vspace="8">
</div>

i think i must also say that this website is a template that i have adapted
and that the photos in question are on 3 different site pages. the only photo
that works, is also the only photo that i obtained from another website(a
vendor). if you wanna wash your hands of me, i'll understand....haha. but
again...thanks for the replies

How did you place the images into the images folder via FP File Menu | Import and/or drag-n-drop
into the current (open in FP) FP web ?

there's an ampersand in the file name (b&sPressFW4web.gif). That's not
legal according to standard naming conventions. only a period, hyphen or
underscore are allowed.

Glad that helped and you are most welcome. Sometimes a second pair of
eyes is helpful. Maybe you can return the favor some time and proofread
my typing:)
