jpg printing error in grayscale??

hi. i am not having the .jpg printing twice/printer spooling problem i have
seen mentioned, it's something weirder.

when .jpgs inserted into word files print in color or black-and-white, they
look fine, matching how they appear in the program.

but when they print in *grayscale* on a *color* printer, however, the .jpg
is coming up with a light grey border around most of it. notably, this grey
area can be whited out by an empty text box placed in front of text.
what would cause this shading to appear?? and only in grayscale on a color
printer??

thanks for any help--i am stumped!

Hi J.L.H.,

Are you setting the printer properties to greyscale or
are you selecting the graphic in Word and from the Picture Toolbar
setting Greyscale on the graphic?

What version of Word (including updates listed in Help=>About)

Have you tried on more than one printer/printer driver to see
if you get the same result (You can use the optional install
MS Office Document Image Writer (printer) if you have Office 2003).
