jpg prints as "X"

have had this problem for a while - wondering if anyone else has faced it and
what the cure is....if any. I insert a jpg file as a background image to a
drawing. All the new stuff I add in visio prints ok, but the image prints as
a big rectangle with an "X" through it. Sometimes in looks ok in preview,
but prints with the x, sometimes even the preview shows the x. any
hints/suggestions?

I suspect that the system cannot find the file that you have linked to the
drawing.

that can't be it. it shows up in the preview mode
