Jumbled Text when printing

M

Michael Byrnes

Several people have complained about Visio2003 text within a simple box
being jumbled when (a) pasting as an enhanced metafile in word, and (b)
printing the word doc to a PS or adobe PDF printer.

These questions go unanswered in the various visio and word groups.

Supposedly, there was supposed to be a fix for office 2002 sp2, but I don't
seem to see a fix for office 2003.

Is there some sort of secret? Or do the MS folks think that it somehow
unusual or even stupid to expect word to be able to print to a PS printer or
to an adobe PDF printer?

Why the big mystery?

I would also like add to this by noting that text viewed in the Visio Viewer
is often too big for the bounding rectangle, and so it flows unexpectedly
onto another line, rendering it ... yukky!

Hi,

IF you try this steps it should this issue .

Step1. Exit from Visio and Acrobat.
Step2. Choose Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
Step3. In the Printers and Faxes window, select Adobe PDF.
Step4. Choose File > Printing Preferences.
Step5. In the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences dialog box, click the Layout
tab, and
Then click Advanced.
Step6. Click the plus sign (+) next to Graphic to expand the view, and then
select Print Quality. Choose 600 dpi from the Print Quality menu.
Step7. Click OK in the Adobe PDF Converter Advanced Options dialog box, and
then click OK in the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences dialog box.
Step8. Open the Word file with Visio object and convert the file to PDF.

This works fine with Adobe Acrobat 6.0
