Jump alphabetically to list item

I have a long drop-down list. I want the data entry
person to be able to type a letter or 2... and have the
selection jump to the corresponding section of the list.
For example if the list is 5 names:

Al
Frank
Joe
Tom

After clicking on the list I want to type "j" and have the
selection highlight Joe.

This is routine in web pages...like when you have to
select your state to order and item, etc.
